Recommended Watch : Delhi 6

3 Messages

In Morning I watched Delhi-6. I didn't have much expectations as many people on twitter suggested that movie is ''epicfail" and 'overrated' and what not. But let me tell you, IT'S NOT.

Movie is really enjoyable. I really really liked it. I was going to review in detail here, but one of my friend from DigitForum and Twitter @drgrudge (He is Ashwin too ) already summed it up very beautifully in his recent post HERE

Here is the comment I posted in response to his movie review ::

About Story == It was just perfect. As you said - makes you think. Like in scene where ‘Gobar’ doesn’t let ‘Untouchable Jalebi’ come inside house where some RaatJagaa is going on, and in next scene, in RaamLeela- Raam is eating those ‘Shabri ke jhute ber’. What an Awesome comparison.

Also the song in which they showed ChandniChow+NewYork. Awesomeness.

I had this movie’s song album since a long time, but I never listened it thinking it’s overrated. But when I listened them in movie, then realized how wrong I was. Most of the songs are awesome. My fevorite being Delhi6 and Genda Phool (because both have dancing beats). At first I thought Genda Phool is some dehati kinda stupid song, but after finishing movie I must’ve heard it 50+ times.

Overall, I have nothing against this movie except that the climax should be longer. After beating Roshan they explained all things in a hurry…. oh well…

Everybody has different taste when it comes to movies (really.. ask those who liked High School Musical 3 he he he...)... You might like it.. give it a try ;-)

The Mayonnaise Jar and 2 Cups of Coffee

2 Messages

I just got this via email .... so thought to share it with u all. Its a bit lengthy but inspiring.

The Mayonnaise Jar and 2 Cups of Coffee

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with an unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things ---your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions---and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car.

The sand is everything else---the small stuff. 'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for

the things that are important to you.

'Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Spend time with your children. Spend time with your parents. Visit with grandparents. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.

Take care of the golf balls first---the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled and said, 'I'm glad you asked.'

'The coffee just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.'

Secret to a happy life is like a encrypted file. We just need to find the correct key. :)

Quizz... The Party Star...

5 Messages

If you know me personally, you will never believe the above quote. I am the guy who wears specs all the time, never talks about anything else but computers (and girls), wears a Cargo- T-Shirt - Addidas sports shoes, Cap and rides a 8 year old Hero-Honda CD-100. A typical nerdy image.

It is hard to imagine that a guy like me can ever go to parties. But looks are deceiving my friends.

Today was wedding of of my classmate Vipul's brother. Me and the gang which includes Vidip(the other guy who used to like same girl I did... thats all in the past though), Upendra (The Algorithm Master), Dheeraj (The_Fatso_Comedy_King), Sachin (Neha ka Sachin :P ), Vivek (Karmyogi Baba ), Vaibhav (ex-BestFriend but now a nobody) and Sulabh (The laziest but coolest and most handsome of the gang) met at Dheeraj's place, and went to a gift shop. After that it was time to have fun in Baraat . There I unleashed the party dominating star monster in me. It was like The Hulk. There was nobody dancing. So I started, and before I noticed, every Camera was focusing on me. BANG! And the party started. We danced for about 2 hours - non stop. When we reached the place, where actual marrige ceremony was going to take place, we danced for another hour on DJ's music mixes. It was quite fun. Too bad Vipul didn't invite any girl from class or it would've been one heck of a coolest night, WHOLE gang together.

And this was also our last party together. In a couple of months each of us will go his own way. \\

Last year of college is FUN!

While surfing a warez site, I found this amazingly cool app. It's called 'G-RAP-IT Share'.

Grap-it share screenshot

What it does is, you can enqueue as many Rapidshare Links as you want in it, and It will download them one by one. Of course it will wait 15 minutes after each download (thats a Rapidshare Imposed limit for free users), but thats not much considering you will not have to stay up all night to start a new RS download.
I am using this app from last two days and it's working really great. If you are a Rapidshare Leecher- This one is for you.

Download it from here :

Nick n Norah's Infinite Playlist [Movie Review]

1 Messages

This day was one of the day's when I get really down. My confidence vanishes, I shut myself in a room and all that emo stuff. Nothing productive to do, so I watched this chick-flick 'Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist'. Turned out this movie is just opposite of what I expected.

Nick n Norah's Infinite Playlist [Movie Review]

The movie stars Michael Cera (of Juno,Superbad) and Kat Dennings (I first saw her in Hilary Duff's Rise Your Voice). They both look so good together.

http://hackerashwin.blogspot.com

Nick (Michael Cera), the only straight band member of "The Jerk Offs"
has recently been dumped by his hot girlfriend, Tris (Alexis Dziena).
Nick believes that he can win her back by sending her special songs on
CDs that he has mixed just for her. Nick has sent her about 10 CDs, but
Tris only throws them in the trash. However, Tris' classmate, Norah
(Kat Dennings), has retrieved most of them, and she loves them. Norah
has never met Nick, but the music he loves touches her heart. Norah and
her friend Caroline are at a nightclub where "The Jerk Offs" are
playing, and Norah is attracted to Nick while he is playing his guitar.
Tris shows up at the same club with her new boyfriend. Norah doesn't
want Tris to think that she is dateless, so she asks Nick to pretend to
be her boyfriend for 5 minutes and gives him a big kiss. Then Tris
tells Norah that Nick is her ex-boyfriend. Now that Norah has Nick, the
heartless Tris decides that she now wants him back. A night of
searching for the band "Where's Fluffy" will end up with one of these
girls winning Nick's love.

So where was I? Yeah "movie is just opposite of what I expected"... In a good way... in a amazing way to be honest. Today when all romantic comedies are filled with gross slangs, sex and dirty jokes, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist sets itself apart with clean screenplay and a gripping storyline. There is 0% nudity in this movie and just two kisses - a completely family movie even by Indian standards. lol

It's the story which is strongest point of the movie. This is not actually only a romatic comedy... it's an adventure too.
Nick is part of a gay band (he's only straight member in it) and Norah is daughter of a music studio owner. Both alone and dumped by life. Both nerdy and dorky. Kinda like me really... :P
Ari Graynor, plays one of the most
ridiculously likable and cute drunks I've ever seen and she is lost. It's up to Nick-Norah and gang to find her while also keeping an eye out searching for their fevorite band's concert location. Come to think of it there are not a single adult actor in cast. Whole cast consist of young energetic actors. Alexis Dziena plays a strikingly hotttt (makes you shout w00t!) and jealous ex-girlfriend of Nick. This movie is also about journey of a chewing-gum whic goes from one mouth to another mouth and even to toilet filled with shit and back to someone's mouth.

On the emotional level this movie really touched me. I mean the concept of- "Boy sending mix CDs to a girl who dumped him" is not new to me (long story). This film put a smile on my face, and made me
believe in 'clean' films again.

All I want to say is let the infinite playlist play and enjoy it.

My Rating: 8.5/10.

P.S.: I am definitely gonna get this movie's OST. Loved it!
