.) AROS Research Operating System:The AROS Research Operating System is a lightweight, efficient and flexible desktop operating system, designed to help you make the most of your computer. It's an independent, portable and free project, aiming at being compatible with AmigaOS 3.1 at the API level (like Wine, unlike UAE), while improving on it in many areas. The source code is available under an open source license, which allows anyone to freely improve upon it.What I liked about it is that its Open Source (I am still an OSS fanatic..hehe). It emulates Amiga enviroment so that old Amiga application can run on it.

Ah, thats a nice list. And by "haiku is like BeOS" do you mean it runs on a Windows installation? (like selecting BeOs from the star menu and then launch it, etc)
or is completely independent?

Well, By "Its like BeOS" I meant Haiku is inspired by BeOS. I looks and works like it.
Its a completely independent OS now.
Haiku was developed after Palm Inc, bought BeOS. Haiku was written from scratch while keeping in mind that BeOS apps can run on it.
